about
Robert Starbuck is a former Division 1 Football player, artist, breathwork facilitator and community builder passionate about the healing power of art and supporting others to come into their most authentic expression through breath, movement, and creativity.
After graduating from Georgetown University in 2006, Robert experienced his first of several identity collapses which put him on the path of healing and uncovering who he was at the most authentic level. This journey took him from selling athletic recruiting software in Chicago, to leading breathwork in Los Angeles, to building mountain homes in North Carolina to pursuing his architecture degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design starting in 2025.
His mission now is to grow in his art forms and to support others come into their most authentic expression through breathwork and creativity.
artist statement
I believe that creating art is about expressing the Truth of what’s within.
Much of the healing and transformation I have experienced through making art has come from the ability to express the true essence and depth of my emotions that there are no words for. Since leaving football and the corporate world, art has become a form of therapy as it consistently pulls me out of my anxiety, stress and depressed states into feelings of presence, peace and oneness with God.
I believe we are all artists with unique, creative gifts buried underneath the most painful and traumatic experiences in our lives because it’s these times that give the art a unique meaning. This meaning is the feeling that is both expressed by the artist and received by another.
At the end of the day, the art isn’t ours. It comes from the God that gives us our breath and beats our heArt. So to me, making art is about removing everything that blocks what naturally wants to flow from our heArt and into the world of form.
My intention in sharing all of the art I make is that it provides healing and peace for those that experience it.
